There are times when you need to know the module positions on your Joomla website. This is common on websites that have many modules making it difficult to know which module you need to edit in order to fix or edit some content. 

Luckily Joomla has a hidden hack that will give a visual indication of all module positions used on a page. This hack works for Joomla 1.5, 2.5, 3 and 4.

To view the module positions, proceed as follows:

1. Log into your Joomla backend and navigate to Extensions → Templates. Click on Options, enable the Preview Module Positions option. Save and close.
2. On the front end type ?tp=1 at the end of your url e.g https://upgradeyourjoomla.com/blog?tp=1. You should now see all Joomla module positions displayed
